rop caps! How neat is that?! Now I have to type quite a bit to justify it. Well, it comes from this website – dailydropcap.com Just copy and paste the code. No real post though. I’ve had some posts I’ve been thinking about. One, I’ve noticed I’m becoming much more American. More in the traditional sense, not in the I don’t know what sense. I guess not in the way people typically look at Americans. But the traditional American, that goes dear hunting in a wool buffalo checker suit, wet shaves with an antique double edge safety razor, wants to be outdoors and hunting, shopping at a farmers market, living in an American manufacturing town that – along with the Detroit area – created the American middle class, gardens, wears a button down shirt all the time – work and play, a developing interest in canvas and traditional plaids and stripes, wants to paint a red boarder in my white kitchen that is accented with metal eagles that matches my white china with a red stripe, wants to keep my car running another 30k miles to hit 200k, reading the artofmanliness, shooting rifles and shotguns, a bedroom decorated with antiques like a globe, typewriter, lunch box, cameras, etc., wanting desperately to be a cowboy, making things, wanting to be handy with wood, favoring cocktails with whiskey but enjoying anything older – like Manhattans, sidecars, brandy Alexanders, dry martinis, and so on, and more significant ways I was thinking of the other day when I was going to post about it but now aren’t coming to mind. I’ve also had a post in mind since the spring about the coming singularity between men and machine. The notion consumed me for a while, but I never got around to posting about it, and now it’s way in the back of my mind.
