I’m kind of disappointed in this Marcus Schrenker guy. There was such potential, and he made some questionable decisions. His plan was solid, but had he just bailed out of the plane and forgot about the fake distress call, going to the authorities and lying about the canoeing accident, etc. he would have been fine. Had he just bailed out of the plane as he did without a word, first they would have assumed he was in the plane when it crashed, which would have distracted those looking for him for a while, and then by the time he got on his bike and got traveling, he’d of been long gone. He even could have driven to an airport and been on a plane out of the country before they figured it out.
If you’re ever in a place for dying a tragic, triumphant, sacrificial death, see what you can do to coordinate having the song Lower Your Eyelids To Die With The Sun by M83 playing. The name obviously has death in the title, so perhaps that is where the notion comes from. It’s also epic, as a tragic, triumphant, sacrificial deaths tend to be. I first heard the song in the intro to the Fully Flared skate video with the stuff the skaters are skating on blowing up, sacrificing their bodies for skateboarding? For the sake of the intro to a skate video?
I’m not necessarily an M83 fan, but that song is pretty great.
If a child ever comes into my possession, we are immediately moving to Siberia, or maybe Russia. Just for a few developmental years so when we move back to the Midwest I won’t have to worry about having a whiner who can’t get over how “cold” it is here.
Dave and I have been talking about music lately, especially bluegrass, and he said this – “But I feel like I’ve learned an undeniable truth of music – it’s for you and your friends and family to enjoy together.” And after that conversation I felt compelled to share more. So perhaps I’ll start writing in here more. Now that I’ve started this graphic design job thing I feel more creative and want to do things people tend to share on the internet.
