I woke up Saturday morning a litte after 8:30ish and waited for Carley to call. I waited and waited. And then she finally called around 11 something from Leicester, and I was very excited.
I walked down to the train station to get her, and then I was very happy. I’d like to say that a different way, a way that explains how happy I was. I’m as bad at metaphors and similies as a tiger is at opening a jar of peanut butter.
We went back to my room and talked a little bit, and then Kharlie came to join us. We watched England beat Italy in rugby, played some pool, drank some cider. Then we went to a restaurant for kababs. They had a lot of meat, but it tasted alright. We went back to Kharlie’s room and watched Anything Else. Maybe it’s called something else, I don’t know. I didn’t really want to watch it but I didn’t know what else to do that Kharlie would also enjoy. Carley fell asleep during the movie like Carley does. As she slept next to me, I remembered how much I like to play with the hair of my friends. I’ve never done that with Carley though, and she was asleep so I didn’t. But if I was at Judson in that situation, it would have been different. Then we went back to my room and slept.
Sunday Carley and I went to church and had a good time talking to people afterwards. Carley is better talking to people than I am. Then we came back to the room and talked some more. Then we went out with Kharlie and saw the Leicester football stadium, and went to car dealerships to look at cars. Carley and I argued a lot on Sunday, and it was fantastic. Mostly about what makes a better life I guess, and how that translates to the rest of the world.
Monday I had class and to work in the model shop a little, but then I went back to the room and had lunch and Carley and I talked some more. We went market then to that café I went to before to get coffee and talk some more, and then we walked around town a little. We came back and Carley helped me with my homework I’m really afraid of doing very poorly on. Then we had pasta and baked beans for dinner. I’m glad she is satisfied with boring food like I am. Then we talked the rest of the night.
I woke up this morning about 8:20ish and woke up Carley. We got ready for the day and and headed out at about 9:15. When I woke up the clouds were parting, and our walk was accompanied by an unusually sunny and warm day. We made it to the train station at about 9:40 and waited for her train. At 10, she was gone.
Everything was normal after that. I went to work on my models. Went to tutorial group and was told again I didn’t do enough drawing.
But strangely, it was normal for Carley to be in England with me. Odd as it is for me to leave all I am familiar with to study in England, and for her to leave all she is familiar with and teach in France, but it just felt right for her to be there. Even if I felt quite uncomfortable sleeping on the floor, it hardly felt strange. Carley is one of the people I love most in this world, and regardless of where were together, it always feels right, it always feels familiar, and never unusual.
We talked a lot this weekend, and it was wonderful to do so. Even our ‘argueing’ which is really just typical discussion between us was so refreshing.
If I don’t go visit her in France in April, that will be a very big mistake.
This will forever be one of the highlights of my life.
I think the reading level of what I have written here is about 6th grade. It seems my ability to express myself has been consistently dropping.
Is ‘facebook’ still cool at Judson?
