Over break, Rayne and I spoke through instant messaging, and we discussed how it’s people that make any place worthwhile. I’m rather suprised at how much I miss that country I don’t like much. But it’s not really the country, just the people in it. I miss you all dearly. It’s not bad over here at all, it’s quite grand. But reading xangas and ljs and emails makes me happy and sad.
Happy New Year! With Kharlie, I get a double cultural experience over here. The Chinese new year starts today, so go out and celebrate.
Football is so corporate. Players don’t get traded, they just get bought. David Beckham is a moron. Schools don’t give sports scholarships, so players just go straight to pros, and get 25 million pounds to play football. Chelsea is the best time in the country because they were bought by a Ukranian oil tycoon and gave them like a billion pounds or something so they could buy a bunch of great players. Great teams stay good, and bad teams wait for a rich investor. How lame is that? And then the media determines the game times. So they have games at like 9 at night so all the pubs have to buy the channel to show the game, and then there is only 25% of the stadium full. It’s all a business. Honestly (and don’t tell anyone around here) I don’t find football any more exciting than baseball. I do like baseball though because I played it. Maybe if I played football I’d like it.
Can anyone provide some insight into the happenings of Matthew 15:22-28? I’m not sure what to make of it. Honestly, I don’t like how He treated her.
Honestly, Iran having nuclear weapons frightens me. They aren’t the most trustworthy, as they’ve hidden their developments in the past, and the president said he wants to wipe Israel off the map. So Israel is stocking up it’s weapons. If Iran and Israel get into a war, I’m pretty sure that’s the end of much of life as it is. And since we’ve ruined the land in America by our big-business farming, I’m not sure how much longer we’d be able to last on this planet anyway if something like another world war happens. I’m mostly sure nothing could happen before I got back to the states, but looking out my window, it just has the look. That wolrd-war-much-suffering look.
Another ‘honestly,’ Americans don’t really seem that fat. As for most of the people I see, I hardly see any difference in size between Americans and UKians.
I miss watching the Pistons.
I’d like to bring home things for people, but I’m not sure what to get.
