Can anyone else see Jen Buck with long red hair, looking like Dorothy?
It seems that the ‘Wizard of Oz’ only teaches us that we find worth in being given things we already have by authorities and, and of, society. The lion was told he already had courage, but it wasn’t until he was given a medal for it that he realized it. The tin man was told he already had a heart, but didn’t get it until he was given a heart clock, not even a real heart, by the wizard. And the scarecrow was told he has just as much of a brain as everyone else, but it wasn’t until he was given a diploma that he would accept his intelligence. I think that is the one that is most important to realize in our society.
And even at one’s home, when one witnesses, thinks, or believes something different from what everyone else ‘knows’ is possible, they’ll just gather around that person and chuckle in disbelief.
Mother is forgetting things lately, and accusing me of never saying anything. It is with small matter, but it’s increased frequency is really starting to bother me. And I don’t like being told I’m a liar.
For anyone who doesn’t read Sarah’s site, here is her newer website.
I was supposed to play with Andy and the Pandy’s last night, until I remembered we were going to Ann Arbor to celebrate Kristyn graduating graduate school. God doesn’t want me to play a show it seems. Ever.
I hope this added difficulty to love in the environment I’m in, compared to the one I left, isn’t the reason for my malcontent.
