Can you tour the Fermi National Accelerator Labratory in Batavia?
Wikipedia is a great website. It explains that the Fermilab accelerator can accelerate particles to within 320 km/h of the speed of light. That’s stinkin’ fast. That’s 1,079,252,508 km/h! (that’s 670,616,418 mp/h).
If you have the time, the July Scientific American has a neat article on mass. We don’t know as much about it as we thought. They talk about Fermilab in there, that’s where the tour question came from.
I work with this guy. He does comics. I like them. Except there aren’t really any on there to read.
