Getting up early and doing something moderately out of the ordinary slightly off campus on a warm, sunny, spring morning in the company of a friend makes the time seem as if it isn’t, and that all the days worries are in a different world, close in distance, but far in necessity.
Thank God for occasions, locations, and people who can make that happen.
Then Nathan and I searched through some bands on purevolume. The bands that are ‘x’ something ‘x’ are usually really really good.
Then lunch was good I think. Class was alright but I started falling asleep near the end. Then Josh and I had to write names and CPO #’s on pieces of paper. I was bumbed about that because that meant I had to miss some of the baseball game, even though we did it in the upper commons so we could kind of watch. I watched the rest of the game outside; it was good, even though they lost. Then I went to dinner a little, then went out and skated! Wooo hoooo! It was great. By the time I left, I was more consistant than when I stopped last fall, and started working on some new stuff. That felt great. And the weather was great. And I hung out with some other skaters that I never really talked to before. And I saw Dave and Jay a little. That was neat. They unfortunately got kicked out. I’m going to see what’s goin’ on with that. I got Dave’s number too, I’m glad I got that at least, in case he never comes back again. If it comes to me having to start a petition, I hope ya’ll’ll sign it. Then I went and watched some more of the second game, they were losing, but doing better. Then I went to the room and took a message from Christina for Mike and started fixing my bag and cleaning up the room. It really needed to be done. My stuff at least, Mike has kept his stuff up pretty well. Then I stopped at room 306 to give Lauren her bottle back and saw Natalie outside so I stopped and talked a little. Then I went to give the bottle back and talked with Julia briefly. Now I’m in the lab and lots of friends are here, and things are going fairly smoothly for my portfolio. Honey Queen played with my hair a little too. I like that.
I really hope that it is just a coincidence that my spirits are up with the temperature and sun, because I’d like to feel this way regardless of the weather. There is still very very much that needs to be done before Friday, but at least for the moment I’m confident that the decisions I made to skate and watch the games were acceptable and appropriate. I hope God agrees.
