Carley and I went to a Piston’s game tonight. It was fun. Good game even though they lost by one. They played sloppy in the 3rd quarter and almost came back in the fourth, but made some stupid fouls and shots. It was still a good game. I’d rather it be close and they lose than a blow-out and they win.
I’m kind of suprised we still dress up women like that and have them parade around and dance for us. I realize this is a sex dominated culture, but at the same time, women are gaining more prominence and respect. It seems odd that though we’ve lost much of our patriarchy compared to thousands of years ago, but women are still put on display as much as possible. I tried to avoid looking in their direction as much as possible, but it was somewhat difficult; there really isn’t much else to look at. Carley may have noticed this because she engaged in conversation at some very key times. I appreciated that. I also found it interesting to see how much people would cheer for donuts and coffee racing around on a screen in a animation that will have a particular victor regardless of how much a section cheers. Or cheer for the other things the stadium attempts to get people to cheer about; they hardly seem worth the cheer. I’ll cheer for the team, the rest just seems to be vain.
