Yesterday after youth group many of us headed over to Jeff’s house. It’s been fun going over there. Though I really do suck at ping pong. Why aren’t more activities or sports named onomatopoeicly?
More fun, and more fulfilling however, was talking. For only the second time since I’ve been home I had a religious discussion that was more than small talk. It’s one of the few intellectual discussions since I’ve been home. More people contributed and had opinions that I thought would, reasuring me that some people are learning more than only the right things to say.
Intelligent discussions are a huge reason I’m looking forward to going back to school. They were so frequent with Ryan two doors down. And here at home they are few are far between. I think most have been with my parents and I’m with my parents the least of all the people I spend time with.
I didn’t say all I wanted to say, and heard some stuff I’ve not yet heard, so I’m hoping more such discussions ensue.
I washed the Cutlass and the Fiero today. I washed the Fiero because I have to sell it. Washing and waxing a car to sell it is like fattening the family turkey for the slaughter on Thanksgiving. Or embalming a famlymate for the funeral. The Fiero is soo cool. Some think it’s ugly, some think it’s dumb, somethink it sets on fire, some have no idea what it is. If it worked I’d love to keep it. It is pretty much the worst winter car ever made, but I don’t drive much in the winter anyway. It doesn’t even start, so I don’t know how much I’ll get for it. I paid $350(only because I bought it from family, it was worth more.) so I’m thinkin’ about askin; $351. Maybe I can get more. I just checked the Kelley Blue Book value, if it was in fair condition it’d only be worth $725. It isn’t even fair condition. The body and interior are mostly perfect, it’s just the engine that ruins the car. And because it’s more or less the worst engineered car on the road, nay, broken down, no one wants to work on them. Maybe I’ll ask $600 obo. If the car were in excellent condition, it’s only worth $1,145. I’m not sure I understand that. If I sold that think part for part, wouldn’t it be more than that? Know anyone who wants a good project car?
I walked in my room and looked to the wall for the switch to turn on the light. It wasn’t there. It’s never been there. I’ve never had a switch as long as I’ve been in this room.
Seedless watermellon is pretty much amazing.
