Ima robot! Ima robot!
If you’ve never listened to ‘Ima Robot’, I suggest you do, at least once. They aren’t my favorite band by any means, but fun to listen to everyonce in a while.
Ex-girlfriends. Black Jetta’s.
So much to say, but so little motivation to say it. Enough has happened each day lately to post about each one, but I just don’t get around to it. I can sum up I suppose.
Friday stuff happened. Saturday stuff happened. Sunday stuff happened. Today stuff happened.
I’m having difficulty thinking of Friday. I think I worked until 8. Oh yea! We practiced Friday. It was a good practice. For one of the few times in my drumming career I was impressed with myself.
Saturday Sean and Alyson joined me at the Detroit Art Festival. That was grand, even though we got lost a little. We met Aunts Shell and Jen down there, and then met Ben and Lisa and Justin and their friends Erin and Julie and uh, maybe that was it. It was fun. Except that to me is a large group. So I intentionally went out on my own a few times. That’s fun because I have no cell phone and people are scared of loosing me. There is a club/group thing in Detroit of people who do art and they have a building that has six super cool studios, three of which were open for us to peruse around. One of them we stopped in I got to talk ‘art’ with some people. I felt neat. A good time was had that night, at least by me.
I played drums at my parents church/my former church. All the reasons I left were still there, but I got to play with a worship leader whom I enjoy playing with. The songs were actually kind of fun and I got to have a good time with them. I took a nap when I got home and then eventually made it over to Carley’s to watch the Piston’s win the 4th game to go up on the Laker’s 3 games to 1. Heck yea. I feel kind of bad for Karl Malone. It’s his last season and it looks like he might not ever win a championship.
Today I didn’t work, so Sean and Andy and I went around metro Detroit looking for places to skate board. I must say, people need to ease up on the skateboarders of this country. They aren’t the ones we need to worry about. We didn’t find many places to skate. We went back to Andy’s to get ready for his skateboarding party. That was a great party. Lots of skateboarding. I didn’t end up board sliding, but I got the board on the rail with both feet on it. That was a big jump for me. Great fellowship. Skateboarders in general seem to be good people. Sean and I had a good talk. I didn’t really want to say that, but I couldn’t think of the words to say that properly. “Interesting” isn’t what I wanted, and neither was “eye opening”. We discussed some matters in which our opinions were similar. I saw it, and it was good.
We got a boat. We didn’t buy it though, we won it, from Art Van furniture. We’d never buy a boat, at least not for a number of more years. It’s a nice boat. Not huge, but more than a fishing boat. We won it a couple weeks ago, but I wasn’t sure my dad wasn’t playing a joke on us until I saw it in the driveway on Saturday.
Now I’m here. And hopefully working at the estate tomorrow. Hopefully the Piston’s win the championship tomorrow. Cedar Pointe on Wednesday. Hopefully it doesn’t rain.
So girls, don’t expect me to attempt to impress you. Not that you aren’t worth it, I’m just not going to do it. And if you think I am trying to impress you, I’m not, I’m just tryin’ to be a nice guy.
