Turns out it was worth skipping class for the Solid State show. I didn’t doubt it would be fun even though I didn’t like most of the bands. Hardcore shows–shows in general– are good times. I wasn’t sure if it’d be worth the homework I have in drawing class and not being able to say that I’ve never skipped a class. It took 14 years of school to finally skip for non-academic reasons, and I don’t feel as innocent as I once did. I’ve officially joined a different class of people. What the heck, I may as well start smoking marijuana and drinking beer and cussing now. All the bands were better than last I heard them recorded. I think Dead Poetic made the biggest jump, though they still aren’t that great. I wasn’t that impressed by Beloved either, besides the drummer only having one cymbal besides his hi-hats. And I’m still not an Underoath fan. Haste the Day was good. Norma Jean was good, but they weren’t as tight as I expected. The video they had was amazing and Sigur Ros playing when they ended was wonderful if it was their doing or not. Hangin out with J.D. and Amy and Brian at Steak N’ Shake was a very entertaining time.
I like breakdowns.
Maybe I’ll write more later because I think I have more to say. But I don’t remember.
