I had visitors tonight. It was quaint. Unwed Sailor provided a perfect compliment to the visitors. I’ve never had anyone besides Ryan or Brittany or my friends from home who stayed the night here once, in my room for that long. It was a welcome break from homework. I appreciated the visit. I showed photographs to people who asked. That may have been a first. People have seen my pictures before, but only ’cause I first said, “Hey, look at this.” Unfortunately the pictures I showed werent pictures I am particularily proud of. (I just took about an hour break. I’m back now.)
I think I might have a change of plans for my future. England is still my dream, but I’ve come up with a reality that could be neat. Ryan and I were talking to James, and arch kid, about his senior project kinda thing. He said he is designing and building furniture for a place down in Cabrini Green(sp?) and I said I wanted to help. Then I began thinking, designing stuff is a little more design than architecture, especially product design. Then I thought about all the organizations such as the people James is working for who have a very limited budget, but still need good effective materials and such in their buildings. Then I thought, I want to be a product designer. Then I thought, I could start one of those non-profit organizations and design furniture for organizations that are on a very limited budget. I thought of ways it wouldn’t work of course, but it would be neat if it did, so I’ll keep thinking about it, and welcoming ideas from anyone.
I bought a rose for myself, because I love myself so well.
